If you think Spain is just beaches, paella and sangria, then you’re very much mistaken: Spain is one hell of a complicated country, in terms of language, culture, politics, society, gastronomy…the list is endless. This is my attempt to get under the skin and understand what is really going on. It’s not an account of how enjoyable and frustrating life can be in this country –if that’s what you’re looking for I recommend Ben Curtis’ Notes from Spain.

Who am I?

I’ve lived in Spain for three years and have travelled widely. Currently, I’m studying for a Master’s in Zaragoza, having taught English in Oviedo and the Basque Country for a year.
